A delegation from Germany, led by Bodo Ramelow, recently visited Da Nang, Vietnam, to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation across various sectors. The meetings focused on evaluating the current socio-economic partnerships and identifying potential areas for deeper collaboration in education, technology, investment, vocational training, and workforce development.
Da Nang’s authorities expressed a keen interest in expanding their partnerships with German regions and institutions. They highlighted the importance of human resource development, vocational education, and German language training. The city is also eager to attract more German investment in several key areas, including high-tech industries, semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation.
Ramelow emphasized the potential for collaboration in vocational education, suggesting the development of joint training programs. These programs would aim to provide graduates with qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany. He further expressed his support for strengthening business ties and creating new investment opportunities between the two regions.
Germany continues to be one of Da Nang’s primary European partners, with existing cooperation spanning trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange. This visit underscored the commitment of both sides to further expand their economic and institutional partnerships, reinforcing the beneficial ties between Germany and Da Nang.
